SUMMARY:Volunteers needed for Road To Recovery!
DESCRIPTION:What do we do?\n\nWhen transportation is a cancer patient's biggest roadblock to treatment\, we help provide the rides that can help save lives. The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery program offers cancer patients free transportation to and from their cancer-related treatment. For those who cannot drive themselves or have no other means of getting to treatment\, volunteers donate their spare time and the use of their personal vehicle to give cancer patients in their community a much-needed ride.\n\n\n\nWhy is this important?\n\nRight now\, one of the biggest barriers to cancer care is transportation. Because\, even the best treatment can't\n\nwork if a patient can't get there. Family and friends may help\, but over the course of several months\, they may not always have the time or financial means to provide every ride. That's why a successful transportation assistance program can be a tremendous asset to the community. And why we need the support of the Community.\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n A good driving record\n\n A current\, valid driver's license\n\n Access to a safe and reliable vehicle\n\n Proof of adequate automobile insurance\n\n Complete an American Cancer Society\n\ntraining course\n\n Availability Monday through Saturday\n\nduring the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
