WPHX101.9 Community Radio celebrates its first anniversary of broadcasting to the SouthShore community with an evening celebration of live music and dancing on Saturday, August 20th, 7-10 p.m., at the Firehouse Cultural Center in Ruskin. All are invited!
Entertainment will feature Victoria Ginty and Lady Hawke. Plan to stay for the evening, or drop by to enjoy. A suggested donation of $20 will benefit the WPHX operating fund. WPHX is a, non-commercial low power local community radio station serving the SouthShore area.
The station is a project of the Firehouse Cultural Center in Ruskin. It is one of the few stations in the country attached to a cultural center---and the only one with a mission to serve local community with an arts, culture, education and community license and mission. The station broadcasts twenty-four hour music, culture and community programming and invites community into the program creation process through program proposals, training and participation.
